![]() For melee I’d go with Crypt Blacksword, infused to Dark and upgraded to +5 it has an S scaling for dark bonus and deals pretty good damage when buffed with Dark Weapon or Resonant Weapon. Other than that, a non infused Great Club +10 buffed with Dark Weapon also makes short work of anything that wears armor. You basically want something with strike damage as Tim pointed out, good poise dmg is also very handy because mobs have a lot more health and you won’t be able to oneshot many of them. Large weapons also have the advantage of flattening most enemies which is extremely useful against phantoms - there will be a lot of these and because they don’t play by the same rules as player (infinite stamina, very fast attacks) you’ll want some form of cc for them.īlack set (or the helm at least) is a good option because of its cast speed modifier, Hexer’s hood if you need extra spell casts but imo it’s better to stack up on same type of spell, with the amount of bonfires in the game you really shouldn’t have any issues. Rings: I’d go with Blue Clearstone Ring +2, Cloranthy Ring +2, Ring of Blades +1 (I don’t know if you can get +2 by burning ascetic), Ring of Life Protection/Binding Ring. Note that heavy weapons wear out really fast so if you find yourself meleeing a lot and casting less, drop the Clearstone ring and replace it with Bracing Knuckle Ring +2. Stats: min requirement for weapon of choice, at least 30/30 int and faith (more if you plan on using high level spells, but remember that you can get those requirements down with spices), agi at least 100 but no more than 110 (via atn and adp), attunement to cover as many spell slots as you plan to use (~5 should be enough, although some take up 2 slots so think about pumping this stat more or wearing Southern Ritual Band +2), rest is up to you. Spells: personally I’d go with a main nuke (Dark Orb or GRS), weapon buff and utility like Yearn but ymmw. If possible, try to get all items you plan on using before starting ng+, and don’t forget to upgrade and infuse them.
